CDP Diversity Commitment Statement

Contributor Development Partnership (CDP) is dedicated to recognizing and supporting the dignity of every person. CDP values diversity and believes it is our civic duty to create and sustain an organizational culture committed to inclusion and equity.

As an organization committed to strengthening the public media system, CDP also sees diversity, equity, and inclusion as integral to our mission and values.  Diversity is essential to the mission of public media, which aims to educate and inform the communities it serves by sharing diverse perspectives. The organizations we serve are diverse, and we hope to reflect this same diversity in our workplace.

Diversity:

Diversity is the presence of the various intersectional facets of our different identities. This includes race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity/expression, disability, physical ability, neurodiversity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age and national origin and many other facets not listed here.

See CDP’s EEO statement for a full list and more information.

Equity:

Equity is the standard of fair treatment that CDP strives to achieve. Equity means ensuring equal access to opportunity and advancement by breaking down barriers to enable all people, regardless of any aspect of their identity, to achieve success.

Inclusion:

Inclusion is the active effort to ensure that CDP is a safe and welcoming place for people of all identities. Inclusion is fostered by actively bringing those who may be excluded due to their identity into decision-making processes and development opportunities within the company.

Longevity and Actionable Steps:

CDP is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and equitable organizational culture. As a company, we want to break down barriers that prevent employees from achieving success due to their identities and create an environment in which everyone has the opportunity to fully participate and be valued for their distinctive skills, experiences, and perspectives. Through those efforts, we will strive to actively combat complicity in institutionalized inequities in our communities.

To further internal initiatives and reinforce our commitment to this work, CDP established a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) group. The team was formed as part of conversations around the racial and other structural inequalities that are woven into the fabric of this country and disproportionately affect marginalized and underrepresented groups.

Our DEI group plays a critical role in our efforts, serving as a resource for CDP, providing important perspectives on the types of barriers that contribute to inequity in the workplace, and fostering programs and services that support the dignity of all employees.

We recognize the importance of investing time, thought, and resources towards building a truly diverse, equitable, and inclusive organizational culture. We will constantly pursue and evolve our initiatives in order to ensure continued progress towards this goal.
