CDP Hires New Chief People Officer, Barbara Curran

BOSTON, January 3, 2020 – Barbara Curran is the new Chief People Officer for CDP (Contributor Development Partnership), the Boston-based collaborative fundraising service for public media stations announced today.  She will be responsible for all HR functions across the organization.

“Barbara is a dynamic addition to our organization, a proven industry leader who will be integral to our continued success for CDP and our partner organizations,” said Ben Godley, CEO of CDP. “This role will allow her to use her skills and experience steeped in the high-tech, high-growth sectors, and work with the Leadership and CDP team to ensure the programs are in place to support our aggressive growth plans.”

A senior human resources executive with more than 25 years’ experience partnering with CEOs, leadership teams, and investors in emerging technology companies and mid-sized organizations at the inflection point of growth, Ms. Curran has deep experience across a wide range of HR areas including talent acquisition, learning and development, leadership coaching, and employee engagement with a specific focus on creating and implementing programs to scale quickly and effectively.

For the last 15 years, Ms. Curran has run her own strategic consulting practice working with a wide range of clients, mostly in the high-tech “Software as a Service” (SaaS) space.  During her tenure as a consultant, Ms. Curran has been asked to take on the full-time role as head of HR to work more closely with the executive team to scale toward successful exit as she did with Neolane, which was acquired by Adobe, and Synthesio, which was acquired by Ipsos.

Previous to founding her consulting practice, Ms. Curran spent eight years as a partner in a search firm that provided technical talent to some the region’s fastest growing startups.

For 13 years prior to that, she held various roles with a leading New England-based staffing company, working with the president and executive leadership to grow the company from early stage to more than $150 million in annual revenue. In the last three years with that company Ms. Curran was responsible for the mergers and acquisitions efforts, which led to significant topline revenue growth as well as successful integration of the acquired entities.

Ms. Curran is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Isenberg School of Business and received her MBA from the Boston College Carroll School of Management.

“I am excited to join CDP to work with this talented group to ensure that our partner organizations can receive the level of service and results that Ben and the leadership team have envisioned,” Ms. Curran said. “The core mission of CDP is such an important one and to be part of this success story is extremely rewarding.”
